On the occasion of the festival, each Villarfocchiardo grower presents his 50 largest fruits and the one with the highest weight is crowned Best Producer of the Year. Quite prestigious, not only for its economic value, is the 'Marrone d'Oro', which is awarded each year to the chestnut grower who has most distinguished himself in the care and development of the marrone: a career prize.
